Merry Christmas!

Not Much Happening...

Things have been pretty quiet around here. I'm done traveling until January so I'm just tying up loose ends here in the office.

We're going to have a pretty busy holiday season. This will be the 1st Christmas I will be away from my family, as Donny and I will be at his brother and sister-in-law's house in Austin. Part of me is bummed to be away from my family, the other part is excited that we're starting new traditions. Donny has been very gracious about attending all of the holidays with me, so it's time that I do the same.

My dad and Kim will be staying at the apartment throughout the holidays. It will be nice to get to spend some time with them.

Countdown to Christmas - 12 days!!

*If you happen to see a grammatical/spelling error on my blog, please let me know. I hate making those mistakes (thanks to Ms. Davlin) and just noticed that I had spelled the word "another" as "anther" in my previous entry. I promise I will not be offended if you let me know there's an error!

Guilty!

Well, Gayle, I'm guilty as charged. I promised an update on Monday and completely neglected blogger.

I can't seem to get a grasp on my new position, in terms of time management. I've never had a job where I've had to leave projects undone until the next day. I've learned that recruiting is an ongoing process. Here are some other things I've learned about recruiting:

1) I will rarely reach someone on the first try.
2) People will be rude, even when I'm calling to offer them a job.
3) Trying to keep up with 50-100 people at one time can be challenging.
4) I have to be aggressive.
5) I will be exhausted after conducting 8 interviews in one day.
6) I love meeting new people and learning about their backgrounds.
7) I love sharing the business because I believe in the company and its products.
8) I look forward to going to work everyday.
9) It's fun!

On another note, I'd like to congratulate Jennifer and Kenny in expecting their second child and Lori and BSC in having Nate last week. How exciting!

Does anyone else feel that EVERYONE is married and having children? Donny and I celebrated our 2-year (dating) anniversary yesterday but are not anywhere near getting married or having children. I would have never thought that I would be 25 and unmarried. I do NOT have a timeline like Lisa on The Bachelor, but when I was in High School, 25 seemed old. Now that I'm 25, it doesn't feel that way. I'm not in any hurry, but it's hard not to be envious of my friends that have already begun their families.

P.S. I am STILL looking for a roommate. If you know of anyone moving to/relocating in Fort Worth, please e-mail or call me.

Stupid Computers!!

I'm back!! For whatever reason I've been getting a "Gateway Timeout" message when I've tried to access blogger since the 11th.

I'll have to do a complete update on Monday morning because I am swamped at work today.

I will say that I saw the movie Flicka this week and LOVED it. I'm not ashamed to say I teared up (more than once).
