Busy, Busy, Busy!!

Thanks Jennifer, for reminding me that I've been neglecting my blog. Here is a recap of what's been going on since October 27th:

1) As of last Friday, I am now the Director of Selection - Campus (politically correct word for recruiter). That means that I am now in charge of all of the recruiting for our office, on 8 major college campuses. Basically, I travel to each campus and either conduct an info session or go around introducing myself to college students who want an internship or full-time finance position. I LOVE it! The main campuses I recruit from are: UNT, UTA, TCU, TECH, ACU, MWSU, TSU, and BU. If you know of anyone that I can talk to on those campuses, I'd appreciate your help. I've been meeting with professors, career services, and the presidents of fraternities and sororities. Also...if you know of anyone from any college that's looking for a position in the Fort Worth area, let me know.

2) I spent my 25th birthday recruiting at Texas Tech. Though it was not the ideal place to spend my birthday, I made the most of it. I had some awesome fried cheese from Spanky's and some great margaritas from Chimy's.

3) Donny treated me like a princess for my birthday. Following lunch at Olive Garden, he took me shopping for a new suit and purse. He was definitely a trooper because we spent 4 hours at JcPenney. I feel like we can make it through anything if we can make it through that!

4) I have officially moved offices. My original office was in a storage closet. I'm not kidding. Their office had been growing so quickly, they had no choice but to clean out a closet and put me in it. Fortunately I now have an office with a window that faces downtown. I'm so excited!

5) Basketball season has begun for Donny. I can't wait to sit in the stands and support him and his team again. Unfortunately, this will be the first year that I won't be able to be at all of the games and won't be coaching myself. Though I miss the kids and the coaching, I am completely confident that my decision to leave teaching was the right one.

6) Christmas is on the way! As I was shopping for things to put in my office this morning, it took everything I had not to buy Christmas decorations. I love this time of year. The weather is wonderful and I LOVE shopping for other people.

Hopefully I haven't left anything out. I may not be updating as much since I'm going to be out of the office most of each week.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
